It is my son Matthews birthday today. Happy birthday my boy!

Today(21 July 09) I was determined to improve on my walking time of 41 minutes from yesterday. (20 July 09)
I was pretty stiff after my first day yesterday but in spite of that I decided to go all out and shave some time off my record that I set yesterday( ha,ha,ha)

I started of well and after the first kilometre, i was ahead of schedule. Halve way through the walk I even had time to give the Guine Fowl a fright with my huffing and puffing. I got a stabbing pain in my left knee, but only slowed down momentarily.

I met 2 groups of walkers along the way but I could barely lift up my hand to greet them as tiredness was setting in fast. I also had a stabbing pain in my chest and I was reminded of the words of my princess. She told me over the weekend when I told her my plans that I should take it slow and not over do it at the beginning( Over the years she has seen me starting this kind of program may times only to stop after a couple of days because I want to achieve too much too fast and then get discourage and stop- GENTELMEN – WHAT WILL WE DO WITHOUT THEM? AND ALL THE LADIES IN THE HOUSE SAY AMEN)

My mind wandered what would happen if I should fall over now and go to be with Jesus( this is while going up hill and slowing down due to the pain)How long before the Resort staff would miss me and come looking for me? Would my family miss me or would they moan about the amount of money they had to spend to get my body to Cape Town- Hope Princess is not reading this)If it is a heart attack would they get me to the hospital in time? All these nonsense was going through my head as I picked up speed again.

Well in the end seeing that you are reading this, I did not get a heart attack nor did I die( my dream to reach 120 is still alive) and I shave one minute of my time. Yes I did it in 40 minutes! Hoora!!

At the resort we have some cats and one of them got his head cought in a tin. ( I have just finished my walk when one of the campers at the chalets –Eric- alerted us) We phoned the ladies of CLAWS ( Clanwilliam Animal Welfare) and Ann van Tonder and her friend saved the cats life. Big Thanks to Eric and the ladies!!

So walking in Clanwilliam can be very exciting and I am looking forward to my next walk!
